293 – LtCol Garth Massey: Marine Officer & Founder of Military Leadership Methods

1492884681642Lieutenant Colonel Massey was commissioned in the Marine Corps in 1996 and has served as an Infantry Officer.

His extensive leadership experience has seen him lead in a multitude of capacities including a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he participated in the march to Baghdad; where his platoon secured the 1st RCT objective in Baghdad and the UN compound and attached to Task Force Tarawa, charged with seizing the City of Tikrit.

 

LtCol Massey is certified as an Operations and Tactics Instructor (OTI) is a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from San Diego State University and received a Masters of Business Administration from Regis University, graduating with honors. LtCol Massey holds executive certifications in advanced negotiations from the University of Notre Dame.

Military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (gold stars in lieu of third award), Navy Achievement Medal (with combat V) the Combat Action Ribbon as well as other personal, campaign and service awards.

In his civilian capacity, LtCol Massey is the founder of MLM (Military Leadership Methods) where he shares over 241 years of military leadership lessons with individuals and teams.  At MLM they believe that it’s not about training, it’s about growth.  MLM can provide individual mentorship, company keynotes, training workshops and full development programs that focus on building people & creating positive business outcomes.

Garth’ unique specialties include: Keynote speaking, event development, strategic consulting, negotiations, performance management, team building, operational planning, effective decision making, process development.

Additionally, Garth is the founder and CEO of Veterans For American Business Development; a nonprofit promoting extveteran employment.
