Ben Hutton has worked in construction all his life. As soon as he was old enough to lift a hammer, he was swinging it. At the age of 12, he started working in the industry during the summer.
After obtaining a construction management degree from Kansas State University, Ben worked for a Colorado-based firm before returning to Hutton Construction as a project manager, and later, leading the company’s business development efforts.
In 2010, he assumed the role of president, taking over for the man who instilled his love for construction. Under Ben’s leadership, Hutton Construction has grown consistently and considerably. The number of employees has more than tripled through both growth and acquisition, while the company has expanded its capabilities geographically, as well as in multiple new industries. Ben transitioned to the role of chief executive officer in 2016, and his love for construction continues to radiate in his leadership.
When Ben isn’t guiding Hutton’s employees, he stays involved with Youth Entrepreneurs of Kansas, Young Presidents Organization and Maize Education Foundation.
Outside of business, Ben’s number one passion is church and family time with wife Erin and their three kids, Wesley, Bethany and Shepherd. Ben is a self-proclaimed tech nerd, he enjoys woodworking and tinkering in his shop and watching and attending Kansas State sporting events.
