Dr. Kim Villeneuve is the Founder, President and CEO of Centerstone Executive Search, Inc. For more than 20 years, Kim has placed CEOs and executive teams and built boards for companies ranging from new ventures to Fortune 500 firms.
Kim leads Centerstone’s Executive Search Consumer and Service Practice with an eye toward organization and leader optimization. She and her team are praised by clients for their careful listening, broad candidate reach and astute assessment skills. She is often engaged to handle the thorny assignments of founder succession, including highly sensitive CEO and board searches, whether for startup, emerging or mature businesses.
Before founding Villeneuve Associates (now Centerstone) in 1998, Kim oversaw three regional offices as a Managing Partner in a boutique executive search firm acquired by Korn/Ferry International. Prior to her work in the search industry, Kim came from a $1 billion multi-unit retail division of Carter Hawley Hale where, as an officer of the company, she was responsible for organizational development and succession planning.
Kim holds a doctorate in Human and Organizational Learning at The George Washington University. Her areas of emphasis are board and executive leadership, CEO succession and organization development. She holds a master’s degree in management from the University of Redlands. She has been Chairman of the Board for the South Central Family Health Center in Los Angeles. She was honored with the Sammi Award of Distinction for Learning Promotion for Youth and was inducted in the Washington State DECA Hall of Fame for her contributions as a Board Director in facilitating connections between executives and emerging business students.
A veteran speaker on leadership and organization development, she is a guest lecturer at The George Washington University and American University. Kim has been a guest writer for the Wall Street Journal, the National Retail Federation and Discount Store News, among others. She has published numerous articles on shaping organization culture and transformational leadership, and is committed to promoting leadership development by offering time and expertise to groups such as the National Retail Federation and the University of Washington, where she serves on the Retail Management Corporate Council.
